What Weekends Are All About

What a weekend! Friday night I was able to see Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband perform on campus.... my cheeks hurt from smiling so much because the performance was THAT awesome. The songs they played were in the style of 'new grass' and really creative, ranging from topics of love to corn dogs, superman, birds, head shoulders knees and toes, dandelions, karate, and banjos. Ryan was INCREDIBLE: he sang and played his fiddle at the same time, and rotated between playing the mandolin, fiddle, and guitar. For their encore piece they performed 'The Devil Went Down To Georgia,' but in the middle of it they went off on a tangent doing the BYU fight song and the Mario theme song. Ryan's 2 year old boy got on stage with his tiny violin and 'played' and 'sang' for the whole audience too. Man, did they know how to work a crowd!

For Heather's birthday we built a fort (probably the best one of my career as of yet) in our living room by hanging sheets to the ceiling and hung sparkly stars for a magical effect. It was a pajama party, and we put our hair in side ponies with crazy make-up!

Today we made these signs and put them on some of the guys' doors, making it look as if they had put the sheets out themselves and we had just signed them. Funny  :)
